I'm not going to check this blog anymore, I am converting entirely to our new Forumer Board since I hate Blogger and am a forum person myself. With the amount of campaigns that we have running, with all the little subsets of our d&d group I feel that the forum is the best direction to go in. One place where any new updates can be seen and browsed through quickly.

It's always "Oh, I uh I won't be sure if I can make it to the session uh until uh three minutes before it starts. Oh hey, whaddya know, you're all there and I came four hours late because I had stuff to do that I forgot to tell you." Well not this time.

I'm giving you fifteen days. April 30, we are getting a campaign together. I don't care if it's Eberron or RJ's campaign (as long as it's not WiT), we're getting something together. I'm pretty sure I'd be happy to host 12-8 on April 30.

It's OK if you can't make it. It's not OK if you say you can come but don't or say you can't but it turns out you could. Just find out if you can or can't make it and no waffling. None of the "I won't know until a few (2-3) days beforehand" stuff. It's OK if you say something like, "I won't know until April 24 or 25," because then we have time to tell everyone the final result. It's more than two weeks.

I'm aware that this is the day before Easter and that my pose some problems, but this is the one day that I could host it (meaning we could do it earlier if someone else hosted) until late May. Like me, I'll bet at least half of you are mad because you don't get to play D&D enough. Right? Well, I am. So I decided that it would be fun to set up a blog to roleplay on. That's when I found this diceless roleplaying system, called Epitome. Diceless roleplaying, you say? How does that work? Easy. Little to no combat. Sorry. But frankly, I often prefer the strategy of D&D to the combat. Hence why I like arcane magic and not fighter-types. I've already set up a blog, located at blogwarriors.blogspot.com. Whoa! Looks like I got the LotR trilogy - all three extended editions - for Christmas.

A thought occurs to me.

Here it is: I did the math, and all together the running time of all three extended editions comes to approximately 724 minutes, or 12.066666666666666 hours. What if we were to get together for an over-night geek festival, where we watch all three LotR movies back-to-back-to-back? I've got a big screen TV that's begging to be used, and my dad got a wicked set of Klipsch 5.1 surround sound speakers that just need to be set up.

So, how about it? School starts up again for me on the 6th, so sometime before that would be ideal. In fact, we could even combine it with a New Year's party if possible.

Thus far my parents have given me the all-clear.

Problems with RoD

This is not schedule related, this is actually in-game problems. Ben, as you all know, is a half-dragon with a +3 level adjustment. Evan is a kender, probably with a +1 adjustment, simply because he annoys the shit out of all monsters. Now, obviously, Doug and Gus want characters with level adjustments. I understand this desire. I also understand that this could potentially kill the campaign, similar to how my old magic item policy worked. So now we have three options:

Kill the kender and half-dragon, and have everybody have +0 level adjustments.
Allow characters of up to +3 (or so) level adjustments (this is what you guys want most, and I want least)
Keep it the way it is.

Duke it out in the comments area, I'll try to make a decision somewhere around the 27th or so.

My ECS is here, and I would like to point out the four new Eberron races: Changeling, Kalashtar, Shifter, Warforged. Changelings are a crossbread of dopplegangers and humans. Kalashtar are part-psionic and part-human, however, since I will not allow psions, I'll treat these like monsters: you might find one, but you won't be one. Shifters are also shapeshifters, slight less powerful in combar, but more powerful shifters. Warforged are powerful melee fighters, and are constructs.

Some stuff about the blast-from-the-past D&D session: we should definately get together on Saturday, October 16 for a 30th aniversary D&D session; also, we need to choose which campaign to play and where to play it. We can't do it at my house, seeing as how it's parent's weekend at Hill and my parents (and Doug's, probably) will be away all day and, unfortunately, they're not cool with a campaign at my house when they're not there. Doug and I would most likely need rides to and from the campaign, depending on where and when it is. I suggest that we do the RJ campaign because it got flooded out last time. And last and most weird, we should all DEFINATELY wear 70's attire. I have a hippie costume from last Halloween that I'll wear, and I can bring a lava lamp to whereever. New Idea!

Not sure if this would work, but here goes: we form a new D&D campaign. We'd need a DM (I'd much rather play as a character for this idea). People decide on whether to play chromatic or metallic, and we all make wyrmling dragons of that type. We play as these dragons, without worrying about classes. When we would level up, we add one HD. If we reach the HD mentioned for the next size, we upgrade to that size. If someone dies, they return as a dragon of 3 HD less, with a minimum of 1 HD. Comment on this with suggestions, criticisms, and compliments for this oh-so-awesome idea.

Ben and Evan are currently out at Stone harbor for the week. I was thining that it might be possible for the rest of us to get together at least once this week to have a D&D session. However, this would mean coming up with figuring out what to do about their absence, and we need to get Tusz to be willing to create a new character (let's face it, his old one will never return). I think that we should just play on without B&E, with them not dying or gaining XP. Comment on this if you agree. Or, we could start up a comedy campaign, which I would be willing to DM for.

P.S. I don't think that Ransom should come again, he seemed to be completely crazy.

Sorry, but I'm not going to be able to make it to D&D tomorrow by 12 because of my art class. If I leave early from it (it normally runs until 3:30) I can probably get out by 1 and be at Ben's house at around 1:15, but it could be later if there are complications. I hate to do it, but this post is just a desperate plea for either the session to start later or, more plausibly, for it to end at a later time. I'm really sorry, since I know everybody already has had plans made, and I understand if nothing can be done. If nothing can be done, I bequeath control of my character to Quiggy (I'll scan my character sheets so he can print them out or something). Anyway, sorry about all this. But hey, at least I got that riddle, right?

What does everyone have their feats/skills into to help their character function? I have weapon focus(bastard sword) to help counter this silly tower shield penalty, exotic weapon proficiency(bastard sword) so I can kick ass, and Power Attack, as a precursor to Cleave. Skills don't mean a whole lot with me.
