Not Checking this Anymore

I'm not going to check this blog anymore, I am converting entirely to our new Forumer Board since I hate Blogger and am a forum person myself. With the amount of campaigns that we have running, with all the little subsets of our d&d group I feel that the forum is the best direction to go in. One place where any new updates can be seen and browsed through quickly.

*Makes rude gesture*

What's your problem with Blogger? And it's a crapload more convenient for SOME of us. The Atom feed is EASIER to keep tabs of and I don't like forums half as much.

At 8:55 PM, Blogger Quiggy said...

I do wish I had gotten an IPB board instead of a phpBB, because IPB supports RSS. Oh well, too late now.

At 6:56 AM, Blogger The_Tractor said...

I happen to like blogger a lot, but I've switched to the forum just because I kind of have to since the DM of the campaign we play the most switched and I don't want to check two blogs for the same thing. And it is pretty nice having so many little tabs for classes and PrCs and every campaign and all.

At 11:34 AM, Blogger Dougie said...

Quiggy: Why is it too late now? I don't think it's that much of a problem. The fact is, I'm just not going to remember to check a forum, and it's inconvenient to have to scroll through sub-forums and threads. If there was RSS support I might be able to go with it.

Or we could do the Google Groups thing.

At 9:33 PM, Blogger Quiggy said...

Certainly Google Groups over Yahoo! Groups. rec.games.frp.dnd is very easy to follow, and it gets well over 200 posts daily. Still, I say we stick with the forum. We can condense everything from our 3 D&D blogs into one site. And while there's no feed, you just go there, and there'll be notifiers on the page for you.

At 5:09 AM, Blogger Dougie said...

Oh, that's convenient. So I can go to five different pages looking for an update to a possible campaign playing.

I'm not going to win this, am I?

*Sigh*

At 7:07 AM, Blogger The_Tractor said...

Actually, it takes five seconds to check. You just have to scroll down and look for a new symbol. Then go into that thread and look for another new symbol. Then go look for the new post.

That makes it sound really bad, but only if there're lots of posts. We barely have any.

At 5:45 PM, Blogger Dougie said...

Huh... I wonder if that'll change? Let's see... Twenty comments on the previous post, and this is the eighth on this one.

Huh.

Ugh I am just so fundamentally opposed to forums. I know it goes against my geekhood, but there's just something deep within me that's rejecting the whole thing.

At least Ben's at school to give me the 411.

At 6:42 PM, Blogger Quiggy said...

Just to note though, you won't see any of that until you register.

I'm taking initiative this time

It's always "Oh, I uh I won't be sure if I can make it to the session uh until uh three minutes before it starts. Oh hey, whaddya know, you're all there and I came four hours late because I had stuff to do that I forgot to tell you." Well not this time.

I'm giving you fifteen days. April 30, we are getting a campaign together. I don't care if it's Eberron or RJ's campaign (as long as it's not WiT), we're getting something together. I'm pretty sure I'd be happy to host 12-8 on April 30.

It's OK if you can't make it. It's not OK if you say you can come but don't or say you can't but it turns out you could. Just find out if you can or can't make it and no waffling. None of the "I won't know until a few (2-3) days beforehand" stuff. It's OK if you say something like, "I won't know until April 24 or 25," because then we have time to tell everyone the final result. It's more than two weeks.

Yarr. I oughta be able to as my parents are fairly pleased that I'm raising my grades, but I need to ask 'em about it.

I'm not sure at this moment, I should know at the start of that week. At latest by the wednesday of that week.

At 7:13 AM, Blogger The_Tractor said...

Y'see what I mean about the whole, "I'll know by..." thing!?

At 3:25 PM, Blogger Neon said...

I can go. It is confirmed.

At 2:19 PM, Blogger Quiggy said...

I realize I'll be flamed for this but here goes: I won't know until laaaate this week. The reason! I won't be able to do much homework on Sunday (maybe only 4 hours worth). So if I have lots of homework, can't come. Little or none, can. We have 4 options, ranked in order of my preference, least to most: 1) Have it, but without me 2) Don't have it 3) Have it, but make it shorter (12-6?) 4) Hold out until I know.

Yeah, Quig, you will be flamed. Now you're a flamer. Like you weren't before.

No, but you will be burned at the stake. Why is it that you say you have too much homework (more than four-hours worth, apparently), and yet you are on gaim every night? For the rest of the week, I'm going to tell you to get off gaim and do homework and then you'll be able to come and we'll at least have Eberron.

I've heard that the Townsends may be in Hahvahd. In which case, we cannot play RJ's campaign seeing as how we wouldn't have a DM (a wee problem). And remember, (I'm pretty sure) we are right outside the Forge of Fury and that's kind of the title of the campaign, so if we're lacking a vital force (no rogues, no fighters, no magic users, etc. Fortunately, we have about three of everything), then I fear we'll have to cancel. And we have one day to get the freaky sword to the freaky lady in town and it kind of takes a day to get to town. If Quiggy can make it, we do Eberron. If not, we restart my mini-campaign. Anyone who wants to join can, level 10, PHB and ECS races, level 10 starting gold (page 135 of the DMG), we have a rogue and barbarian/ranger/weretouched master.

So then: RJ and enough people = his campaign.

No RJ but Quiggy = Eberron.

Neither DM = my mini-campaign, all are welcome.

So it's looking good. As of now, everyone can come. Unfortunately, I was the only one who did not lose my character sheet, but my fighter was still very noob-esque (I had no clue what I was doing). I propose that we all remake our characters together on Saturday at the beginning. Same class and everything, just a remake.

At 8:11 AM, Blogger Dougie said...

Umm, yeah... Dunno if I can make it. I haven't actually asked my parents, but depending on how much I disclose to them, I either can or can't go. Luckily I've gotten some good grades recently which oughta butter 'em up.

I'll be there!

At 4:46 PM, Blogger Dougie said...

Okay, I oughta know by 11:00 to 11:30 whether or not I've got a game. My parents are gonna be there to watch, and I'll bring my D&D stuff, so I'll be ready to go if I can. Chances look good.

If I can't make it, I'll try to get my character sheet to Ben.

"Oh, I uh I won't be sure if I can make it to the session uh until uh three minutes before it starts."

That sounds amazingly familiar if you replace the three with thirty. Oh well, it's not your fault. But we'll be hoping you make it. Or kidnapping you if you can't.

Actually, if everyone could make it but me and they were willing, I could give my character sheets to Doug at school that day and have Evan (specifically him, he's the best at roleplaying) play for me, and then I might be able to show up later (hopefully someone could still give me a ride home even if I didn't give them a ride there...please!?)
